Our Staff and Directors
Camp Directors:
Meg Dudek is now in her sixth year of running the DMB Sports Camp. Meg’s background comes from a wide variety of sports-related activities including playing field hockey, soccer, and camogie; organizing activities for her sports clubs; coaching field hockey and lacrosse; and working on the Customer Service staff for the Washington Capitals. When not working at camp, Meg functions as the DMB Sports Group Vice President.
Mel Ryburn is excited to start her third summer with DMB Sports Camp. Mel loves sports and has worked with several sports and outdoor adventure camps all over the country. She coaches youth basketball in Western Loudoun, has coached soccer, and loves working with kids. Mel played soccer and basketball at Loudoun Valley High School and graduated from Elon University with a degree in Leisure/Sport Management. During camp’s off-season she functions as the DMB Sports Group Sr. Programming Manager.
Karen Shields is our new Cheer Camp Director, taking over for former Director Kristin Sheetz who is having a baby in May. Currently working on her masters degree from Shenandoah University, Karen is a first grade teacher at Lowes Island Elementary and has also taught first grade at Sugarland Elementary. She has coached cheerleaders of all ages and levels. Starting as a JV coach for Dominion High School, she is now the head varsity coach. In her spare time, she coaches cheerleading for Upper Loudoun Youth Football League. Karen looks forward to sharing her love and knowledge of cheerleading with our campers this summer!
Natalie Kowalski returns to DMB Sports Camp not as a counselor but as our new Art Camp Director! An art major at James Madison University, Natalie’s talents include photography, competitive swimming, swing dancing, and of course art. Natalie graduated from Stone Bridge High School where she developed her love and passion for art. In addition, she also has three years experience as a swim coach for the Ashburn Farm Barracudas. Natalie looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for art and working with children.
Steve Inch comes to us from the University of South Carolina where he is graduating with a degree in Sports Management. A graduate of Oakton High School (Vienna), Steve has played baseball and basketball and has competed in triathlons. He has coached basketball through Vienna Youth Inc. We look forward to sharing Steve’s talents with our campers this summer!
Our Counselor Staff
      
Our staff is a great tribute to the success of our camp. All staff members are First Aid and CPR certified and are dedicated to working with children in a nurturing and positive manner. Our sports and cheer camp counselors come from a wide variety of sports backgrounds, most of them competing at the varsity levels for their schools. Our eco quest and art counselors have a great talent in their respective areas of interest. All campers will be able to enjoy the variety of personalities and strengths that each counselor brings to our camp programs.
